About Keanae Uka
At Ke'anae Uka, we are currently striving and working together as a community to restore and beautify the once known, “Camp Keʻanae” to what is now rightfully named, “Ke‘anae Uka”. A community campground and events facility for hosting and providing resources to the people of Maui and our island visitors. The 9-acre property is nestled atop the breathtaking Keanae Peninsula with panoramic views of kalo patches, local farming and agriculture, East Maui Coastlines, as well as, the town’s famous, “Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread” shop.
Ke'anae Uka has several accommodation choices to choose from. There are two (2) bathroom facilities with flushing toilets and shared hot/cold water showers; two (2) cabins: The First Cabin has approximately 34 double stacked bunk beds (with more room for cots, air mattresses or sleeping bags) 68 beds total with a possibility of accommodating over 100 persons. The second cabin has about 6-10 double stacked bunk beds (with more room for cots, air mattresses or sleeping bags) 12-20 beds total with the possibility of accommodating 30-50 persons. The second cabin also has a large lanai, which can be utilized for sleeping accommodations as well with cots, air mattresses or sleeping bags. The gymnasium has a large room with approximately 12 double stacked bunk beds (with more room for cots, air mattresses or sleeping bags about 24 beds total with the possibility of accommodating approximately 50 persons. The Gymnasium itself can hold approximately 100 or more persons with cots, air mattresses or sleeping bags. There is also another small room with 1 full sized bed and a small couch which can hold approximately 10 persons. Theres is a camping area which can hold numerous tents of various sizes. Lastly there is a small duplex cottage which we are reserving for Kupuna's only. The cottage can accommodate 6-10 persons on each side with a possible total accommodation of approximately 12-20 persons.
There is a dinning facility, with several cooking appliances, refrigerators and freezers that are available for us to use. All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) will be held in the dinning facility, with the exception of the luau which will be held in the large lawn area toward the bottom of the facility.
What To Bring?
Ke'anae Uka is a beautiful facility located almost to the halfway point between Kahului and Hana. It is open yet secluded and can get pitch black during the nigh time hours. Great for star gazing and enjoying the night sky. With that being said, we are providing lights to illuminate the pathways between the upper and lower area of the area as well as near and around the various tents that will be setup for this weekend long event.
We recommend bringing the following items:
-
Flashlights / Lanterns (Solor re-Chargeable or extra batteries)
-
Solar Charging power banks
-
Bedding (Pillows, sheets, blankets, air mattresses, cots, sleeping mats / bags)
-
